Why Didn’t We Get the Mac Mini Pro

We didn't get the Mac Mini Pro, but instead we got the Mac Studio with M1 Max and the M1 Ultra Apple Silicon chipset as it was announced at the March 8th event. It seems that many of you were hoping (including myself) for an update to the M1 Mac Mini that was going to fall between the current M1 and the newly announced Mac Studio.

From Apple's standpoint I believe this makes sense and the Mac Studio is actually a reasonably priced piece of hardware, however it may also leave a gap for some of you who were looking for an upgrade that is within a lower price range.
